One winter, my family and I took a trip to Yosemite. The trees, the crystal-clear waterfalls, and the laughter shared around a campfire inspired an idea that would change our family gatherings: the game Adivina la Palabra. As we walked along the trails, I noticed how my children, who only speak English, and my Father , who only speaks Spanish, tried to communicate with gestures and smiles. I wanted to create something that would unite their worlds.

Back home, I designed Adivina la Palabra, a card game with clues in both languages. Each card has a word, either in English or Spanish, with descriptions and gestures that everyone can understand. For example, a card might say "árbol" or "tree," with clues like "tall, with green leaves, lives in the forest."

I made sure the cards were accessible for my children,

who enjoyed guessing in English, and for my father.

The first time we played, it was magical. My children laughed as they tried to act out words like "río" with movements, while my father, with enthusiasm, guessed "sol" when he saw them point to the sky. The game was not only fun but also created a bridge between generations and languages. Each game was filled with learning and, above all, love. Adivina la Palabra became a family treasure, a reminder of that day in Yosemite when we
discovered that, no matter the language, the heart always finds a way to speak.
